I have always had a passion for textiles and have always loved fabrics with a luxurious feel to them, fabrics which are colourful and fabrics which drape well. I now design and hand weave my own fabrics on a 24 shaft compu-dobby loom. Each fabric is designed to be suitable for its use whether it is to be worn as a scarf, made into a handbag or made into a garment. My love of colour and texture is reflected in my work and current exploration of collapse weaves to produce "bumpy" fabrics. Inspiration for fabric designs often comes from natural sources which are colourful and have an interesting surface quality in texture or pattern. I live and work in Poole, Dorset, exhibiting and selling my work through local craft galleries and occasional craft shows. I hope you enjoy exploring this site. |
